नक्सलियों ने अपने ही एक पुराने साथी की हत्या कर दी।नक्सलियों को शक था कि वह संगठन के राज पुलिस तक पहुंचा रहा था। मृतक का नाम नेल्शन भेंगरा है। वह सारंडा जंगल क्षेत्र के जराईकेला थाना अन्तर्गत समठा गांव का रहे वाला था। वह लंबे समय तक नक्सल गतिविधियों में शामिल रहा। मई 2023 में एक सड़क निर्माण कंपनी से लेवी मांगने के आरोप में जेल में बंद था। दो माह पहले ही वह जेल से बाहर आया था।

Angered by the arrest, a group of villagers, including school children, have launched a protest in front of a police station here, demanding his release. Ramlal Nureti was arrested from Karekatta village under Madanwada police station limits on Saturday, an official said. The man was allegedly involved in putting up Maoist banners and posters in the area in September last year, he said. The accused, a resident of Mahka village under Sitagaon police station area, works as a guest teacher appointed on a contractual basis at the government primary school in Karekatta village.

मुजफ्फरपुर जिले के सकरा थाना क्षेत्र के बघनगरी में में एक साथ कई जगह माओवादी पर्चे पाए गए हैं। हालाकि गांव में फेंके गए नक्सली पर्चे में किसी संगठन का नाम नहीं है। इसमें ग्रामीणों से समाज के गरीब, शोषित, वंचितों का शोषण करने से बाज आने की चेतावनी दी गई है। ऐसा करने वाले सामंती ताकतों को बुरा अंजाम भुगतने की भी चेतावनी पोस्टर में दी गई है। गांव में इस तरह सरेआम नक्सली पोस्टर मिलने से आज ग्रामीण दहशत में नजर आए।

In the afternoon of Monday 1st of January, a six months old baby was murdered and its mother was injured, allegedly in the middle of a gunfight between Maoist guerrillas and troops of the old Indian State in the region of Bastar, in Chhattisgarh. This happened just three days after that a police camp was build in the region.

मणिपुर में एक बार फिर तनाव की स्थिति उत्पन्न हो गई है। यहां कुकुी गुट ने दो प्रमुख राजमार्गों इंफाल-दीमापुर (एनएच-2) और इंफाल-जिरीबाम (एनएच-37) की अनिश्चितकालीन नाकेबंदी शुरू कर दी है। इसके साथ ही कुकी गुट ने प्रतिद्वंद्वी समुदाय मैतेई पर पर आदिवासी बहुल क्षेत्रों में आवश्यक वस्तुओं की आपूर्ति बाधित करने का आरोप लगाया है। बता दें, कुकी गुट पहाड़ी इलाकों में आवश्यक वस्तुओं की निर्बाध और पर्याप्त आपूर्ति की मांग कर रहा है।सीओटीयू के महासचिव लैमिनलुन सिंगसिट ने कहा, हमने पहले एक अल्टीमेटम दिया था कि अगर खाद्यान्न, आवश्यक वस्तुओं और जीवन रक्षक दवाओं की निर्बाध और पर्याप्त आपूर्ति नहीं की गई तो हम 21 अगस्त से एनएच-2 और एनएच-37 दोनों को अवरुद्ध कर देंगे।

Forces from the CoBRA battalion, Jharkhand Jaguar and the district armed police were carrying out a joint operation in the West Singhbhum district when the Maoist combatants opened fire on them. A deputy commandant of the CoBRA battalion was shot and injured and none of the Maoists were taken.

Women’s-rights campaigner in India acquitted after wrongful imprisonment for two years
On 5 January 2023, well known indigenous-rights campaigner, Hidme Markam, was released from Jagdalpur Central prison. She had been wrongfully incarcerated by the Indian state of Chhattisgarh since March 2021. This followed her wrongful arrest – effectively an abduction – by the Chhattisgarh police. After nearly two years in prison facing five serious charges relating to sedition, she finally had her day in court and was acquitted of four charges and released on bail regarding the final charge. But will she be compensated by the state of Chhattisgarh?
